This day has been quite nearly dreadful and awesome at the same time, if that's even possible.
On the one hand, I woke up today at 5 am to do Arabic homework that I couldn't understand. Then made my lunch and got ready for my library job. I had to work today from 7:30 am - 11 am! Yuck! Right after, I worked for the school's Blood Drive information table from 11 am -12:30 pm and had to walk through the windy, snowy weather to the farthest building off of campus to go to my shortened Arabic class (which is across the way from my equally far-away on-campus apartment). I came home, charged my phone, and headed back out to my 3:30 pm Linguistics class with Dr. Cook. I'm just now sitting down at home after braving the snow again, and let me tell you, I am tired! Unfortunately, I have to leave the comfort of my apartment once more for a 7 pm meeting that will last until 9 pm. But, I am about to eat and relax while I can.
Then again, I know that all of this hard work and struggle will be worth it in the end.
Happy Wednesday to all!

Chill Sunday
In college, Sundays are a blessing. For the people who partied it up the whole weekend, Sundays are their chance to catch up on all their homework before the week begins. For others who relaxed on the weekend, Sundays are yet another day to be chill. I'm in the latter group. In the past, I've worked at one of my scholarship jobs on Sunday from 3-7 and I HATED it. I didn't so much hate the job as I did having to work on a Sunday. Now, I don't have that problem.
Usually, I would sleep in like crazy on a Sunday, but I remembered that I needed to eat some fruit to jump start my metabolism since I'm doing the 90 Day Diet. Today is Pasta and Pizza day, and that makes me happy. I'm gonna make Tuna Helper later on today for my yummy pasta part. Then, later on, I will be making crepes with some friends. I have always wanted to try them so I'm excited to have a hand in the production process, as well. I love to cook! I was actually watching the "April in Paris" episode of 'My Fair Wedding with David Tutera' and he and his bride made awesome crepes. I wanted to climb through the TV and get some too!
But I will say hasta luego for now as I'm about to eat my oranges, drink a ton of water (gotta stay hydrated), and watch some awesome cartoon on Netflix. I am SO happy that they've added my childhood onto the Netflix Instant Queue as of December. I mean The Aristocats, The Rescuers, AND Pocahantas??????????? Awesomeness!

New Year, New Things
Hi, my name is Chynna. I'm a junior at Truman State University in
the small town of Kirksville, MO. I have a dad, a mom, and two sisters. Now I'm
sounding like Eliza Thornberry from the Wild Thornberries. Oops!
That's
actually why I'm writing this blog. My good friend and fellow blogger, Louise,
told me that I should dish out my insane knowledge of celebs, TV shows, movies,
and music history out to others by writing a blog. I thought she was crazy, but
then I thought, "What the heck?" So here is my first attempt. I have
to warn you ahead of time: I am not funny. In fact, I am incredibly corny. The
things that make me laugh usually have others looking at me like "Why did
she say that? I don't know, but let's smile anyway so she doesn't feel
bad."
Anyway, as you saw
the title of this entry is "New Year, New Things." This semester, I
am doing two new things that will hopefully lead to exciting results. I have
started the new 90 Day Diet http://the90daydiet.com/ which is strange but
interesting and an ab workout program that I found on the Google Play Store for
Android. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm not really overweight or anything.
In fact, I'm very curvy and, as some men like to say, I'm thick. However, I
want to always have a nice, toned stomach so that, no matter how curvy I am, I
never look overweight, hence the ab workout. My mother has done pretty much
every diet known to man from fasting, Atkins, Michael Thurman, Beyonce's
Cayenne Pepper diet, and so many more. I've seen the good and the bad of these
diets. Still, I was intrigued by the 90 Day Diet because it wasn't really a
diet saying cut out fat, carbs, calories, starches, sweets. Rather, it asks you
to eat them only on certain days because apparently some foods don't digest
well with others and this causes those horrible stomachaches we get after the
holidays. So today, I'm on meat and fish day. That means I can eat any kind of
meat, eggs, veggies, whatever. The only thing I can't have are certain types of
breads. Otherwise, not too restricting, right?
Besides my meal
plan, I'm focused on a new research project for school and my future education.
I am studying what happened to the African peoples taken from their homelands
and put to work in the Americas. Growing up, I only really heard about slavery
in America. Since I've been in college, I've learned that the United States
only received a small number of slaves compared with Latin America. That's what
I'm trying to find out more about. What happened to these people? How are they
living now? So I'll be working on that today while I'm at work. My new
on-campus job is as a library worker and all I have to do is remove print outs
from the printer so that when students come, they can easily get their papers.
Pretty easy, huh? I know, I thought so too.
But I'm going to
say hasta luego to you all and get started with my day (I have no Friday
classes this semester!).
:)
